By Annika Gwyneth M. Chua and Justine Kirk J. Santos A BILL filed on 2013 which will double the monthly base pay of public school teachers is still under talks in Senate after more than three years.
Senate Bill No. 61, also known as the “Act Upgrading the Minimum Salary Grade Level of Teachers from Salary Grade 11 to 19” is a bill passed by Sen. Sonny Angara on July 25, 2013 that aims to increase public school teachers’ minimum salary from approximately P18, 549 to P33, 859.
