Dela Cruz THE DE La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers once again pinned down the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers with a 43 point lead, 99-56, continuing its 11th winning streak in the second round of the UAAP Season 79 men’s basketball tournament at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum Sunday.
La Salle also tripped the Tigers, 100-62, when they first met for the first round of the season. By Erma R. Maroon’s Jett Manuel nailed a crucial jumper from the foul line to break a 69-all with a minute remaining, 71-69. After a few empty possessions for both teams, Manuel was fouled with 26.9 seconds left and hit two more free throws to make it a two-possession game.
