![]() THE CONTROVERSIAL yet inconsistent remarks of President Rodrigo Duterte resonated through local and international media gives birth to another “war” similar to this administration’s dedication to eliminating drugs—a war on words. The cycle of dissecting in between his lines has always been the same: the President blurting out his off-the-script sentiments on public events, him getting quoted directly by the media, his supporters and critics clash in social media comments sections, the stepping in the spotlight of his Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar who clarifies that what has been said should either not be taken “literally” or “figuratively,” and the dropping down of the blame to no other culprit than the media. |
