Dolot THE ATENEO de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles notched their first win as they dispatch season’s host University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers with a four-point lead, 73-69, in the UAAP Season 79 men’s basketball at the Araneta Colisuem, Quezon City, Sunday Sept.4. The Blue Eagles threatened to within 52-51 in the start of fourth period but Aaron Black and Thirdy Ravena took turns in putting the team’s finishing touches and pulled the necessary stops in the last 10 minutes. Black finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists while Ravena had 17 points and 11 boards.
King Tiger Louie Vigi led UST with 21 points and nine boards while Jan Macasaet had 12 points and nine rebounds. The Blue Eagles grabbed their first win 1-0 while the Tigers fell to their first loss, 0-1. E BOX SCORES: ADMU 73 — Black 23, Ravena 17, Mi.
