Dolot THE ADAMSON University (AdU) Soaring Falcons clawed the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons to grab their first win, 104-85, in the UAAP Season 79 men’s basketball at the Smart Araneta Colisuem, Quezon City, Sunday Sept. 4. Rookie guard Jerrick Ahanmisi lifted Adamson with his breakout debut game to finish with 28 points, six out of seven from beyond the arc, six assists, and a steal. The Falcons unleashed a 21-6 run, 83-77, courtesy of Ahanmisi’s fellow rookie Rob Manalang who contributed 16 points, 9 assists, and a steal leading the fourth quarter assault for the Adamson.
Dawn Ochea and Pape Sarr had 13 apiece. The Maroons tried to wipe out a double-digit deficit in the first half but the Falcons pulled away for good. Paul Desiderio anchored UP with 24 points and 6 rebounds, while team captain Jett Manuel had 15. Christian Moralde and Henry Asilum scored 12 and 11, respectively.
