THE UNIVERSITY of the East (UE) Red Warriors posted their first stamp in the win column after beating Adamson University (AdU) Soaring Falcons, 64-57, in the UAAP Season 79 men’s basketball at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, Sunday. It took six games before the Red warriors ended their losing streak.
Alvin Pasaol carried a 60-53 UE lead after rookie Jerrick Ahanmisis’ four-point scoring with 2:37 remaining. Pasaol led UE with 13 points and seven rebounds while RR de Leon contributed 12 points and four rebounds. Philip Manalang drained four free throws in the final minute for the Warriors’ victory. UE was down by five at the start of the fourth period, 45-50, before increasing the gap by as much as nine points with a 17-3 blitz, 57-48. Papi Sarr scored 13 points with 25 rebounds while Ahanmisi contributed 10 point, five rebounds and five assists for Adamson.
